Pantone’s Color of the Year: Greenery

It may be cold and snowy, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to put a little green in your life. Pantone recently announced its Color of the Year for 2017: Greenery.

After what some may call a tumultuous 2016, Pantone felt it needed to bring in a color that would symbolize new beginnings, and green was the perfect route to go.

Described as a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade, Pantone says that Greenery reminds you of the first days of spring, when nature is reborn. “Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate, and reinvigorate,” says Pantone.

Greenery is what is referred to as nature’s neutral and helps to unite the natural world. “A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront – it is an omnipresent hue around the world,” Pantone adds.

When you look at Greenery, Pantone wants to remind you of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality. It also sees the color as a snapshot of what is taking place in a global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude to save the planet.
