Heading our for travel? Whether you’re going to Market, visiting a client’s home, or heading out to do a little consultation, you’ll want to pack a bag that’s just right for you.
Here’s how to pack you suitcase for travel on an upcoming trip:
Make sure to create a column of color with your outfits – start by packing a white top and white bottom as well as a black top and a black bottom.
Don’t forget to pack a dress or two – especially if you’re going somewhere hot!
Pack extra tops – this is where you can throw in your bold colors as well as your printed tops.
Take a layering piece – A vest, jean jacket, or cardigan are all great ideas just in case you’re indoors and the room is chilly.
Bring comfortable shoes, sandals, or tennis shoes to keep from wearing out your feet on the first day of the trip.
Don’t forget your consultation bag! Here’s what to pack in it:
Electronics: Don’t forget your iPad, laptop, and other electronics you use to do work on.
Color book/swatches: This is important to bring along so you can show clients colors and also use it for your own reference when helping to design a space.
Fabric swatches: If you want the client to know what kind of fabric you’re interested in bringing into their home, swatches will be just the thing you need.
Notebook: A handy notebook will allow you to quickly and easily take notes without losing track of where they are.
Portfolio: Clients and others are likely going to want to see what kind of work you’ve done in the past, so make sure you bring your portfolio along. It’ll also be easy to reference back and show clients examples you’re giving them.
