Celebrate Boxing Day December 26!

Tomorrow is Boxing Day! This official holiday was created to help us get rid of all those boxes that come from opening gifts on Christmas. But just because those boxes came with one item in them doesn’t mean they can’t be transformed into something else!

Check out our idea for a fun Boxing Day project that the kids will love!

Boxing Day Collage

Don’t throw away all that leftover wrapping paper from Christmas! Use it to create a cool collage!

Save your boxes, too, and have the kids glue down the leftover wrapping paper to make a fun wrapping paper collage. You can turn what you once thought of as “garbage” into a unique work of art to use as a piece of decor in your home!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Wrapping paper scraps
  • Safety Scissors
  • Glue
  • Boxes
  • Pencil and erase

What to do:

Pick a design or image that you want to replicate with the wrapping paper. You can make a fish, a rooster, something festive, or another idea of your choosing.

Make sure you draw an outline on the box so you know where you lay the paper. Just whatever you do, make sure you keep it simple.

Cut up the wrapping paper into different shapes that you can use to create your image. Of course all of the pieces may not fit perfectly so you’ll have to do some working around to get it all to fit.

Once your design is how you want it – glue it down to the box or use Mod Podge to keep it all down!

Let the projects dry and then find a place for them in your home! And don’t forget to recycle your leftover boxes and paper so they can be repurposed!
